Srinagar: Central University of Kashmir Teachers Association (CUKTA) on Friday condemned the use of excessive force on unarmed protesters in Kashmir during the ongoing unrest and demanded a permanent solution to Kashmir problem.
“CUKTA expresses deep concern over the prevailing situation in the valley particularly over the use of lethal weapon to control the civil commotion. The use of pellet guns or excessive force on unarmed protesters is reprehensible and hence condemned,” it said in a statement on Friday.
It said the use of excessive force has worsened the situation and brought untold miseries to the people of the valley. “Central University of Kashmir Teachers are grieved over the loss of innocent human lives and express sympathies with the families whose members either died or became permanently or partly disabled.
“The Association has demanded a matured approach to deal with the situation and workout an amicable and permanent solution to the problem.”
