‘Hold Plebiscite For Peace Of Nehru’s Soul’

Srinagar: Independent MLA Engineer Rasheed Saturday said that the soul of the first prime minister of India won’t stay in peace until and unless the Republic of India holds plebiscite in Kashmir, as was promised by the late leader.

While speaking to a gathering on JNU campus, Rasheed said “Nehru Ji came into my dream. He asked me to do a little work of him. When you go to the assembly, ask Congress, BJP, NC, PDP and others to hold plebiscite in Kashmir. Only then my soul will rest in peace.”

He said if India claims that 80 % people in Kashmir who voted for them in the elections accepted India then what stops the world’s biggest democracy to hold plebiscite in the state of Jammu and Kashmir,

“If 80 percent people have voted for India in Kashmir and accordingly, the people living in Pakistan occupied Kashmir aren’t also happy with Pakistan. Then play a T20 match and hold plebiscite and get Kashmir once for all,” he said.

He asked New Delhi that if they can’t give freedom to Kashmiris, they should at least clear their stand what they want to give Kashmiris. “One thing is clear that we (Kashmiris) don’t need economic packages.”
