Srinagar: As the mass unrest shows no signs of abating the State Government Friday ordered transfer of DIG South Kashmir and SSP Anantnag.

DIG South Kashmir Nitish Kumar has been replaced by DIG Central Kashmir G H Bhat, and SSP Anantnag Abdul Jabbar has been replaced by SSP Traffic Rural Zubair Ahmad.

Top official sources said that these police chiefs will take charge with immediate effect.

Sources said Nitish Kumar will go for official training and Viplo Kumar has been given additional charge of Central Kashmir range.

Sources said that these changes have been ordered in view of the on-going unrest that erupted in Anantnag District after killing of Hizb Commander Burhan Wani in Kokernag on July 08.

Sources said that SSP Anantnag has been shifted for mishandling the situation in the District.
