SRINAGAR: Expressing sorrow and shock over the startling revelations of the minister for industries and commerce Chander Prakash Ganga that 545 industrial units have been already established by the non-locals in Jammu & Kashmir, chairperson Hurriyat Conference (m) Syed Ali Geelani said that at a time when the entire Kashmiri nation is protesting against the implementation of new industrial policy, this shocking revelation by the government is an open expression of arrogance of power and it has also come to fore that the new anti-people industrial policy which is being discussed on and off assembly already stands implemented, a statement issued by the amalgam here read.
Hurriyat patriarch, Geelani, cautioned the RSS backed Mehbooba Mufti government that if the public reservations regarding the new industrial policy are not cleared, the pro-freedom leadership will come up with a joint strategy to counter this move. The revelation of the Chander Prakash Ganga has confirmed that the discussions which were going on in the assembly on the new industrial policy and which lasted for many days was just a drama and was a waste of time for both the public and the house.
Geelani, however, said that it is not a new thing for the Kashmiri nation but it has been a routine since 1947. At first India forcibly captured this land and then gradually started to erode the special position of J&K which was granted to it by India itself.
Geelani said, It is quite obvious and expected from an oppressive invader like India but the role of those local politicians is more criminal and condemnable who merely for their petty interests are selling out every single asset of the state to New Delhi.
He said that nobody from Sheikh Abdullah to Farooq Abdullah and from Mufti Sayeed to Mehbooba Mufti is an exception to it and all of them have proved to be the merchants of the national interests of Kashmiris. These are faithless people having no religion. When late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah betrayed the innocent Kashmiri people and accepted the Chief Ministership post against his plebiscite movement, he came up with the land grants bill in the same assembly. It favored that the state land be given on 90 years lease to the non-locals.
At that time while opposing the said bill, I said to him that after 90 years nobody among us will be alive so who will take this land back from them who will be responsible for it.
The octogenarian leader said that since then whoever came to rule us, had tried to weaken the special status of this disputed state. For doing this, they were properly rewarded and they got their families well settled but they ruined the nation and mortgaged everything with India.
While demanding a rollback of the new industrial policy, Geelani said that it is enough now and if the government doesnt shun its rigidity in this regard, then we will be forced to counter this policy.
