SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Samoon convened a high level officer meeting to review the progress of proposed Ring Road around Srinagar.
The meeting also discussed steps and measures taken by different departments in this regard.
The meeting was informed that Rs. 1900 crore will be spend on this historical project. It was given out that the concerned DDCs have been directed to seek cooperation from NHAI to start work on this project.
On the occasion, the Divisional Commissioner stressed upon the officers of NHAI to work with zeal and synergy with Deputy Commissioners of concerned districts, thorough which this ring road will pass, so that the bottlenecks, if any, in this project are removed.
Dr. Samoon stressed on the concerned officers for immediate compensation of land to the owners through concerned Deputy Commissioners, so that there should not be delay in the project and be completed well in time.
District Commissioner Srinagar, Budgam, Engineers of NHAI and officers of concerned departments were present in the meeting.
Besides Deputy Commissioners of Pulwama, Anantnag, Bandipora, Baramulla and Ganderbal districts attend the meeting through video conferencing.
In another high level meeting, the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir today held threadbare discussions regarding road widening projects and compensation to land owners whose land is coming under the construction work. He stressed the concerned to remove the bottle necks of all road widening projects.
He further stressed that all pending issues should be immediately sorted out with the concerned.
Dr. Asgar Samoon was also briefed about toll tax, commercial tax and other related issues.
Deputy Commissioners of Srinagar, Budgam, Kupwara besides Commissioner Transport, Chief Engineer of R&B and I&FC and other officers of the concerned departments were also present in the meeting.
