SRINAGAR: The government Tuesday said that it has not received any report of radicalization of Rohingyas, living in the state, by organisations with the help of foreign funds.
No report regarding radicalization of the Rohingyas as in the state has been received so far. However, strict vigil is being kept on the activities of the foreigners/ Rohingyas to avoid any untoward incidents, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti who is incharge Home department informed the Lower House in a written reply to the question of independent MLA from Udhampur Pawan Kumar Gupta.
The CM said that 13385 Rohingyas/ Bangladeshis are living in Jammu and Ladakh regions of the state to earn a livelihood by performing various works
The object of their stay is to earn a livelihood by performing various works, Mehbooba said.
Gupta had asked whether some organisations are getting funds from abroad to radicalize the foreigners.
In reply the chief minister said that Sakhawat NGO run by Mohammad-ul-Umar of Srinagar along with Dr. Rashid S/o Kh. Ghulam Mohammad R/o Vidhata Nagar Bathandi Jammu and NGO namely S.R Institute of Development based at Rambagh Srinagar and the members of Jamat-e-Islami Srinagar have been helping the Rohingyas in cash and kind from time to time.
Strict vigil is being kept on the activities of these Rohingyas, the CM said.
