SRINAGAR: Doctors Association of Kashmir (DAK) while reacting to the increasing of upper age limit for the post of Director SKIMS by two years, Tuesday, said that this has been done for the vested interests.
President Dr Nisar ul Hassan said that the age relaxation for the post is an attempt to pave way for blue-eyed candidates.
The eligibility criterion has been modified for few influential candidates who otherwise were ineligible for the post. Applications were invited for the position of Director SKIMS vide advertisement notification No ME/NG/71/2016/SKIMS dated 05-04-2016 wherein it was mentioned that the upper age limit shall not exceed 60 years as on January 01, 2016 and this age limit shall not be subject to any relaxation and the last date for receipt of application was April 29, 2016, said DAK in a statement issued here.
Adding, on 28-04-2016, another notification extends the last date for receipt of application to 16th May 2016.
And the very next day on 29-04-2016, another order extends the upper age limit to 62 years. The whole process of change of entire recruitment rules in a jiffy was to adjust favorites, it stated.
This is for the first time that the age limit has been changed. This has created a sense of insecurity among deserving candidates with new and fresh ideas who seem to be disinterested after the move. Also, this change will mean less number of years for the coming director who needs to overhaul SKIMS which is in complete mess, it reads.
