Srinagar: Admitting nexus between doctors and lab operators, Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat Saturday said the government will launch a crackdown against the unauthorized labs and clinics in the state.
Yes there is nexus between the doctors and outside clinics that are fleecing patients, he replied to a question raised by the BJPs MLC Ashok Khujuria in the legislative council.
He also said that there are number of unauthorized labs operating in the state. We will launch a crackdown against these illegal and unauthorized labs and clinics being run by the mafia in the state, he assured the members.
He also said that under the PMs package Rs 200 crore has been earmarked for the health department to enhance facilities in hospitals. Rs 44 crore will be alone spent on the Intensive Care Units at all the district and sub- district hospitals, he said.
He said the diagnostic facilities would be provide at all government run hospitals under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode in the state for the better patient care treatment at government hospitals.
Bali Bhagat said that there would be parental postings to doctors in their respective districts to ensure better facilities at peripheral areas. We will start Ghar Wapsi to post doctors in their respective districts to streamline the health services in the state, he said.
The minister sought the cooperation from the legislators and asked them not to advocate postings of doctors of their choice.
He said that rationalization has been already been started and the government has sought posting details of all doctors in peripheral and far flung areas. We cant accommodate everyone in Srinagar and Jammu hospitals, he said. Government will set up twin control room which will work 24/7 to check whether the patient requires to be shifted to the Srinagar or Jammu city hospital from other districts, he added.
He said that more facilities would be provided at the district hospitals to stop the referral to the City hospitals. Further he said there has been steep increase in drug related cases in the state.
There have been a large number of prosecution and some conviction in such cases, the minister said. He said the home department has reported that there has been steep increase in drug related cases in the state.
He said the home department has adopted a multi-pronged strategy comprising effective beat mechanism, involvement of youth in productive and nation building activities under different civil action programme of the police department.
He said the health department has been coordinating between excise, revenue and drug and food control departments, which has reduced illegal import of such drugs into the state. (PTK)
