SRINAGAR: Three persons are feared dead in a road mishap in Doda district.
Reports and police officials said that a tipper skidded off the road and plunged into the Chenab river in Doda district Wednesday morning.
The vehicle was on its way from Thathri to Doda for annual passing, plunged into Chenab near Border Roads Organisation (BRO) camp Karara. Three persons including driver of the tipper were aboard the tipper who are feared to have drowned in Chenab.
A cop from PCR Doda told Kashmir Life over phone that a police party is on the spot. Nothing can be said as of now as it is not clear how many persons were in the tipper, he said.
The tipper bearing registration number JK 06-6459 went out of the driver`s control into the river at Karara on Batote Kishtwar highway at 7.30 am.
Passenger vehicle turns turtle in Tral, 19 Injured
SRINAGAR: At least nineteen passengers have suffered injuries, some of them seriously after a Matador they were travelling in turned turtle at Shair abad where the road had caved in last night, witnesses said.
They said a Matador bearing registration number JK13-4308 was travelling from Tral to Awantipora and when it reaced Shairabad, it bumped into the caved in road resulting in injuries to nineteen persons.
The injured have been shifted to sub district hospital Tral for treatment and one of the injured has been referred to Srinagar in a critical condition, they said.
