Seerat competition held in Srinagar


SRINAGAR: An inter-district Seerat and Naat competition was organized by Department of Youth Service & Sports Kashmir at SP Higher Secondary School today.

On the occasion speakers threw light on various aspects of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and described him as greatest revolutionary of all times who gave concept of human rights when entire world was in darkness and ignorant about them.

Naats by students in the competition praising the Prophet of Islam (SAW) mesmerized the audience.

DIG Central Kashmir GH Bhat who was chief guest on the occasion distributed prizes among the winners of Seerat and Naat competition. 

In Seerat category Danish Farooq of Baramulla bagged first position  while as second and third position was clinched by Touseef Ahmad of Pulwama and Muntazir of Budgam respectively.   

Similarly in Naat competition Faisal Qayoom of Pulwama got the first position, while as Danish Rasool of Budgam and Tahir Bilal of Kulgam got the second and third position respectively.

Other participants were given consolation prizes. Besides Joint Director Youth Services & Sports and officials of the department, faculty members, students of SP school witnessed the event. Islamic Scholar Moulana Arshad Nadwi also spoke on the occasion.
