Veeri seeks active public participation for effective governance

ANANTNAG: Minister for Public Works and Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. Abdul Rahman Veeri, Saturday said that active participation of people in day to day governance is pivotal for sustainable development and ensuring tangible results on ground.
The Minister said this while chairing a meeting at Dak Banglow.The Minister said that for addressing the development needs of an area, synergy between people and administration is vital.”People and their elected representatives including PRI members, should come forward and partake in the formulation and implementation of developmental schemes and ensuring transparency, accountability besides judicious use of funds” stressed the Minister.
Mr. Veeri reiterated that to put a check on corruptions and infuse accountability in the system concerted measures have been taken by the government.
While interacting with several deputationists  from  Bijbehara, Khiram, Marhama, Mattan, Nanil and Kanelwan, Khanabal, Shangus, Kokernag and other parts of Anantnag  who apprised the Minister with their issues including construction of roads, bridges and  public parks, the Minister  assured  that all their genuine demands would be fulfilled in a time bound manner.   
The Minister directed the engineers of concerned executing agencies to expedite the works on all the under construction projects in the district especially Ring Road from Mehandi Kadal to Ashajipora, Trauma Hospital at Bijbehara and Tourist Resort at Apple Valley Bijbehara.
