PDP’s Zulfikar Removed as Tribal Affairs Minister ‘


Srinagar: Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti Tuesday revoked her earlier decision withdrawing portfolio of Tribal Affairs from PDP Minister Chaudhary Zulfikar Ali.

Zulfikar was allotted this portfolio late Monday night, however, early Tuesday GAD issued an order 317 of 2016 about the matter. Mehbooba Mufti shall hold the charge of this ministry now herself.

Zulfikar held CAPD ministry as well.

  Meanwhile, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali welcomed the decision taken by Mehbooba Mufti. He said that the this development has increased the importance of this portfolio which is at infancy stage and need focused attention at highest level.

   Chowdhary said that creation of Tribal Ministry was historic step of former Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed and he always showed deep concerns for the upliftment of nomadic people and Mehbooba Mufti is also serious to improve the situation of nomads in Jammu and Kashmir.

   The Minister said that he worked in this department with full dedication for 10 months and created proper set up. He said that he received tremendous support from tribal community and great response from officers of Tribal affairs department for which Minister thanked people and officers for cooperation in establishing and running the department for 10 months.
