SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon Wednesday directed the officials to ensure evening transport in the city for the convenience of the public.

Dr. Samoon said this during a meet with members of Chamber of Commerce and Industries Kashmir who called on the Div Com to apprise him about the problems faced by the public in general and business fraternity in particular.

The Divisional Commissioner directed the RTO Kashmir and Traffic Police to ensure that public transport remains available from 6pm to 8 pm in the city so that people don’t face any problems.

During the meeting Dr. Samoon directed the officials of SMC and traffic Police to act tough against the shopkeepers and vendors who encroach roads which hampers traffic and pedestrian movement. He also asked SMC to issue notices to the encroachers and launch a special drive against violators.

Dr. Samoon also asked the SP City Traffic Maqsood-ul-Zamaan to act tough against traffic rule violators.
