ANANTNAG: A mega Reshem Kissan Mela cum awareness camp organized by Research extension Centre and Sericulture Training Institute Pampore in collaboration with District Sericulture Department, Anantnag and central silk Board, Union Ministry of Textiles was held here today.
During the camp, Sericulture Department and CSB installed exhibition stall besides organized a film show to show case the activities of the department.
The aim of the event was to give special emphasis on sericulture development and to provide part time employment to farmers and people related with the sector. The farmers presented some suggestions for strengthening the future of the Silk Industry in the state in general and District Anantnag in particular.
Director Sericulture Dr. Malik Farooq, was the Chief Guest on the occasion while as Director CSB, Dr. Satya Prakesh was Guest of honour.
Joint Director Sericulture Dr. Mir Nissar Ahmad, Dy. Director Sericulture Mr. Javaid Ahmad Najar were also present on the occasion.Resham Kissan Mela held at Anantnag
