Former Chief of Indias ace intelligence organization, Research Analysis Wing (RAW) Amar Singh Dulat Monday said that he has become the fan of Peoples Democratic Party Chief Mehbooba Mufti.
Mehbooba seems to be in no mood to relent and she is not ready to compromise with her principles, he said. She has been giving sleepless nights to BJP and it proves she has aptitude and talent.
Dullat said he was really happy that she was not in a compromising mood. At the same time she should not provide any opportunity to any other political party (NC) to form the government with BJP, Dulat said adding that there has been always a wide gap between New Delhi and Srinagar.
The former spy chief who recently was in news for his book, Kashmir-Vajpayee years said there is hell of difference between Mehbooba Mufti and his late father. I dont think late Mufti had done anything wrong by forging an alliance with BJP, he remarked. He had no alternative while the fact is that he wanted people of Kashmir to progress economically. Dullat said that late Muftis decision backfired and PDP started losing ground in Kashmir. People in Kashmir held PDP responsible for bringing RSS to Kashmir and in fact on ground PDP has suffered a bit, he said.
Dulat said that New Delhi doesnt understand the feelings and emotions of Mehbooba Mufti.
Mehbooba Mufti is desperate to bring change in system but unfortunately New Delhi doesnt understand her, he said. The issues that are important to Mehbooba hardly matters for New Delhi. It is because New Delhi doesnt see things in Kashmir with the prism of PDP. There has been always a gulf between New Delhi and Srinagar.
Responding to a question, Dulat said Mehbooba should form the government without any compromise. Her stand amply proves that she is not after chair but I suggest her not to provide any room to her adversaries. She can prove her worth once she assumes the chair of Chief Minister, he said.
