Despite winning case 6-months ago, authorities yet to release SBM selection list

Srinagar: Aspirants from Shoipan district who have submitted their forms under Saksha Bharat Mission (SBM) Friday staged protest at Srinagar’s Press enclave against Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian for allegedly failing to release their orders from past six months.

The aspirants were holding banners and were chanting slogans like ‘we want justice’.

While talking to media persons, the aspirants said that they are almost 212 candidates who have submitted their forms under the said scheme but unfortunately so far the authorities have failed to release their orders.

“We have submitted our forms two year ago, but the court litigations resulted in the delay in releasing the order. We won the case in court before six months and DC who was among the members of committee formulated at that is yet to release our orders,” they said, adding that they are waiting from past six months but the authorities do not pay heed to our sufferings.

They said, “We pleaded before DC Shopian several times but unfortunately nothing has been done in this regard,” he said.

They said that they are facing immense hardships due to the delay in releasing their orders. “The authorities should release our orders soon so that our sufferings will end,” they said.

They later appealed Governor N N Vohra to personally intervene into the issue and redress their genuine demands soon.

The protesters later dispersed peacefully. (KNS)
