Geelani stable but critical

New Delhi: Senior Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Shah Geelani was rushed to a private hospital in South Delhi on Thursday after he reportedly suffered a heart attack. 

The 86-year-old leader was said to be in a critical condition on being admitted. However, he is now relatively stable. 

Geelani had been brought to Delhi nearly three weeks back for a medical check up.

However, yesterday, afternoon he was rushed from the hotel room to the ICU ward at around 1:28 PM when he reported pain in the chest. 

Geelani is out of danger. But he is still said to be in critical condition. His ill-health has created tension in Kashmir valley as people grew concerned about the health of the aging leader. 

Downtown Srinagar was brought to a standstill after the news of heart-attack broke out.
