DDC reviews preparedness to tackle unpleasant weather

SRINAGAR: In view of weather forecast issued by Metrological Department, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, convened a meeting of officers from Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Mechanical Engineering Department, Public Works Department, Power Development Department, Fire and Emergency Services, UEED, Public Health Engineering Departments and other concerned to review the arrangements/preparedness in case of heavy rains during coming days.

It was informed that the departments are ready to meet any eventuality in case of heavy rains.

The Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar directed all the Departments to ensure timely clearance of water logged areas especially from the roads leading to important installations. He asked SMC/UEED/Fire and Emergency Services Departments to ensure immediate addressing of water logging wherever required. PHE & PDD officials were asked to ensure availability of drinking water and electricity.
