Scores of youth Wednesday attacked a police bus with stones leaving many cops wounded in South Kashmir’s Kakapora area of Pulwama district.

According to the eyewitnesses, the police bus jam-packed with cops came under heavy attack near Kakapora as scores of youth hit it from right left centre with stones. “Several cops were injured in the attack while in a bid to save themselves from the wrath of the stone-pleters police resorted to aerial firing that created panic in the area.”

The clashes between police and youth disrupted normal life in Kakapora, while shopkeepers downed their shutters and vehicular movement on the roads came to a halt. Confirming the incident a police official said that they have identified the ‘miscreants’ and action will be initiated against them. “The police bus was on way to encounter site when it came under attack,” he said.
