Private School owner locks up students for not joining his coaching centre

Srinagar:  The owner of a private school here locked up two students for not joining his winter coaching centre, an act that prompted parents to lodge a formal complaint against what they call ‘businessman’ in Police Station Harwan.

“My two sons who are the students of 8th class were locked up by the owner of the Gestal Education Institute located at Shalimar. The reason was I didn’t send them to attend his winter coaching camp. He was demanding Rs 2200 each per month that I couldn’t afford. Yesterday, he locked up my both sons  in a class room for not attending his coaching camp,” Ashiq Hussain told CNS.

Besides lodging a complaint against the said person, “I have also reported the incident to Director School Education and I hope action will be initiated against the ‘businessman’ who is busy in minting money in the name of education,” he said.

Confirming the incident, Station House Officer Shalimar Zahoor Ahmed said they called the erring teacher to the police station and he apologized for his conduct. (CNS)
