SRINAGAR: On the eve of International Womens Day, AYUSH organised a free medical Camp at JLNM hospital Rainawari today.
During the free medical check up camp, about 2000 patients registered for the treatment and 3 Gynaecologists and 3 General Physicians were present in the camp for providing free treatment. Besides, free medical tests, and blood tests free medicines were also provided to the patients. Non-Governmental Organizations including Thanks Doctor Production, WASU Healthcare Private Limited and Sirahban Pharmaceuticals also distributed free medicines.
The Director General Indian System of Medicine & Homeopathy Abdul Kabir Dar was present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, he stressed on the people to prefer herbal medicines as the medicines have no side effects. He said it is need of hour to use AYUSH medicines as herbal medicines have no side effects. He said there are thousands of plants which grow in our kitchen gardens having medicinal values.
Mr Kabir further said the Department is creating awareness among the people in order to make them aware about the medicinal values of local plants which can be used for various minor ailments.
The Director General said more than 5000 patients are admitted in the hospital every month. He said soon the 10-bedded AYUSH Unit in Rainawari will have extended space in JLNM hospital Rainawari.
The Deputy Director ISM Dr Ashiq, Divisional Nodal Officer Dr Iftikar, In-charge Ayush Unit JLNM Dr Ayoub and Medical Superintendent JNLM were also present in the camp.
