ANANTNAG: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Muneer ul Islam today held a meeting to review the speedy disbursement of relief to the September 2014 flood affected families and traders. The meeting was attended by ADDC Anantnag, ACR, JD Planning, BDOs, Tehsildars besides other officers of the district.
The DDC stressed upon the concerned Tehsildars to speed up the process of account verification of the affected people within 10 days so that the relief amount, as and when received, is transferred directly to the bank accounts of the affected without any intermediary and delay. It was given out in the meeting that a total of Rs.5.65 Crore has been disbursed among the 3103 affected traders in the district so far. Under SDRF, the district received Rs. 1 Crore against a demand of Rs. 1.25 Crore, which will be credited to accounts of families whose houses were damaged partially or completely during the floods.
The DDC also directed the officers to verify complaints of those shops and business establishments who alleged to have been left out from the September 2014 flood affected list.
