SRINAGAR: Continuous drive against traffic violators involved in visible offences viz., without wearing crash helmet, double pillion, without wearing seat belts, overloading, use of mobile phone besides streamlining traffic in Srinagar City. The Traffic department has challaned 687 vehicles and seized 62 two-wheelers in the city.
The Cops also educated and counselled, the Motor-cyclists/riders at TPO City Complex so that they desist from traffic violations in future.
Further, Traffic Police department has taken various initiatives to restore order on roads by taking action against road/foot-path encroachments to restore traffic flow. The Traffic police team was later joined by authorities of Srinagar Municipal Corporation and swung into action against encroachment.
In order to streamline traffic system in the City, the Traffic Police has sought public cooperation and asked all vehicle owners to desist from traffic violation for the convenience of general public and to restore right of way of all road users. They also advised the shopkeepers and street vendors to not to encroach upon road/footpath.
