Srinagar: Violent clashes erupted in Dadsara village of Tral area of south Kashmir on Wednesday evening after government forces cordoned off entire and began searches as they were suspecting presence of militants.
Government forces including armys 42 RR and SOG reportedly launched searches in Mir Mohalla of Dadsara. As the forces zeroed in near a residential house where two to three militants believed to be trapped, locals pelted stones on forces ensuing clashes, they said.
The sources said that government forces fired teargas shells towards the pro-militant protesters and also fired few aerial gunshots. However the protesters continued to pelt stones in order to give safe passage to militants.
Official sources further said that a tight cordon is being maintained in the area but so far there has been no firing from any side. However other reports suggested that the firefight has begun between the two sides. There was however also no official confirmation about on the reports of firing.
