Sale of conifer plants for public inaugurated in Baramulla


Baramulla: Sale of conifer plants was Thursday inaugurated at forest campus Baramulla. 

The chief guest of the function was the Pr. District and session judge Baramulla, Syed Tauqeer Ahmad.  Programme started with ribbon cutting by Pr. district and session judge Baramulla.

About 1000 conifer plants have been kept for public sale at three forest sale outlets at three different places in Baramulla town. Later on the pr. district and session judge Baramulla and other dignitaries visited the central conifer nursery, Baramulla in the forest campus, J.V forest division Baramulla.

Later on DFO J V division Baramulla Irfan Ali Shah (IFS) gave a power point presentation on the activities of the forest deptt and its achievements. 

The other guests who attended the programme include president bar association, patron Baramulla working journalist association Karamat Qayoom, president BWJA Gulzar Ahmad Zargar, lawyers ,judicial officers, members from civil administration as well as senior citizens and civil society members.

While talking to KNS chief conservator of forest Kashmir Nisar Ahmad Darzi said that the sale of conifers from all the district head quarters has been given a kick start for aforestation of urban and Peri urban areas including that on the public property so as to give a green India mission boost. The conifers are available for general public on reasonable and affordable costs.
