Militant module busted in Bandipora,4 arrested: Police


Bandipora: Police in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district Tuesday claimed busting of a militant module by arresting four alleged Over Ground Workers (OGWs).

Official sources have identified the four as OGWs Muzamil Afzal Rather @ Boya S/o Mohd Afzal Rather, Firdous Ahmed Rather S/o Lt. Abdul Rahim Rather, Bilal Ahmed Rather S/o Mohd Akber Rather all residents of Pazalpora and Abdul Majeed Khan S/o Abdul Ahad Khan R/o Kralpora, Bandipora. 

The preliminary investigations reveal that militants were planning to execute some sensational terror act in area, the sources said.

According to Police statement “The above first two person were desperate to join militancy and ultimately received weapon from Bilal Ahmed-who had  6-7 months ago  obtained it from Abdul Majeed Khan R/o Kralpora’’ the statement claimed.

The statement further said that “The Muzamil Afzal Rather, Firdous and Bilal were hatching conspiracy to kill a few prominent person from their adjoining area (who has good rapport among security forces) and for said purpose Bilal has arranged a pistol with ammunition and a hand grenade for Muzamil and Firdous’’.

However, due to prompt and timely action of Police the nefarious terror plots hatched by above person get foiled and all these accused person arrested and arms/ammunition recovered. In this regard case FIR No.03/2026 U/S 7/25 I.A.Act registered at PS Pethkote and further investigation is in progress.
