Drug de-addiction seminar organized in Pattan


Pattan: In a bid to create awareness among the youth regarding the ugly effects of drug addiction, an anti-drug seminar was held in Government Higher Secondary Institute Pattan. Large number of students from various educational institutions, District police, civil, Army Officers, students and locals participated in the programme. The Programme was organized by Media Association Pattan in collaboration with district police Baramulla with the support of army.

The main aim to conduct the programme was to inculcate the awareness among the students and smokers about the drug addiction with the sole objective to eradicate the drug menace from district Baramulla particularly from Pattan town and convey the message that it is a disease that needs to be treated as early as possible. 

Addressing the gathering Commander 10 sector Brig.Shabih Haider Naqvi  and SSP Baramulla Imtiyaz Hussain Mir said that Drug menace in society is the biggest challenge for the Police and army and expressed deep concern over the growing addictions in the Society.

President DAK Dr Nisar ul Hassan and other speakers spoke about the drug addiction and the treatment available in the in the hospitals. Civil officers, Journalists, Counselors highlighted the drug addiction scenario in the society and preventive measures, role of the society in the prevention of drug Menace.
