BANIHAL: At least six people were killed while eight others were injured in a road accident on Srinagar-Jammu national highway near Banihal on Saturday, official said.
They said that five labourers died on the spot while ten others sustained injuries after a Beacon Tipper met with an accident at 4:30 pm and rolled down into a 350-ft deep gorge, about nine kilometers from Banihal.
All the injured were shifted to a hospital for treatment, said an official.
However, one of the injured succumbed on way to the hospital, taking the death toll to six.
The deceased according to the official have been identified as Nazir Ahmad son of Mohammad Bhat, Gh Rasool son of Fatah Wani, Ghulam Nabi son of Fatah Wani, Aashiq Hussain son of Gh Nabi, Mohammad Yusuf son of Fatah Reshi and Mushtaq Ahmad son of Razaq Khandey,
