SRINAGAR:-A team of Food Safety Officers of Drug and Food Control organization inspected various markets of Srinagar city including Batmaloo, HSHS, Saraibala, Lal Chowk, Kokerbazar and other areas to check the sale of open powdered spices which is prohibited under Rule 2, 3, 14, 15 of Food Safety and standard act 2006 Rule 2011.
The team destroyed about 4.5 quintals of spices including turmeric, chilies and saunf powder etc.
Accordingly, all the Food Business operators have been warned not to sell or store open spice powder or else strict action under rules shall be initiated against them.
