Wine supplier arrested in Baramulla; says police

BARAMULLA: Police on Monday claimed that they have arrested a wine (bootlegger) supplier.

A police officer told GNS that on the instructions of SSP Baramulla Mr Imtiyaz Hussain under the supervision of Station house officer Mr Ayaz Geelani raided at Deewanbagh in the district and arrested the bootlegger Jaspal Singh S/O Balwant Singh.

“23 bottles of wine (XXX) Rum recovered from his possession”, the officer said. A case under FIR No. 26/2016/U/S 48/50 Excise act has been registered in this regard and further investigations have been taken up.  The drive will continue against this illegal menace “, he said..
