Police recovered gold and cash from arrested burglars

SRINAGAR:  Police arrested three burglars and gold worth lakhs have been recovered from their possession in Old Srinagar City.

SDPO Maharj Ganj Muhammad Yousuf told CNS that on January 28,Showket Ahmed Budoo of Narwara Srinagar reported that burglars looted gold and cash from his house. “During the course of investigation the place of occurrence was inspected thoroughly and some suspects were examined. Within 24 hours all the three burglars were arrested and the stolen gold ornaments were recovered from their possession,” he said adding an FIR vide number 10/2016 under section 454, 380 RPC has been registered in Police Station Safakadal and further investigation has been going on.

The Police Officer identified the burglars as Arshad Khan of Firdous Colony Eidgah, Jan Muhammad Dar of Malik Sahab Safakadal and Tanvir Sofi of Tangmarg presently residing in Firdous Colony Eidgah. (CNS)
