Mufti hugged BJP for sake of people: Mir

Srinagar:- Former Minister and one of the founder members of People’s Democratic Party Ghulam Hasan Mir Wednesday defended the decision of late Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed for forging an alliance with Bhartiya Janata Party.

“State of Jammu and Kashmir was passing through a worst phase. The economic position was worst. Mufti Muhammad Sayeed hugged BJP for sake of people to provide them some sort of relief. He didn’t do it for himself but forged alliance with BJP in the interest of people,” Mir said.

Mir said that Mufti Muhammad Sayeed was a great statesman who always worked in the interest of people.

Mir said that the delay in government formation has put people in trouble. “Governors rule in no way is conducive for the common people. The delay in government formation is unnecessary as there is no doubt that PDP will again ally with its partner BJP,” he said.
