Prisioner flees from Poonch court; warning shots by cops creates panic

POONCH: A prisioner who was lodged in district jail Poonch today managed to escape soon after he was brought in court compex in the area for hearing.

Official sources told Srinagar based news agency GNS that Tahir Hussain Shah son of Baghdad Hussain, a resident of Guhlad, Mendhar was arrested in connection with narcotic  drugs in May last year was produced before munsiff court by a police team today at around 12:15 pm.

“The prisoner who after reaching the court complex gave slip to police team on the pretext of attending nature’s call and managed to fled away from the spot”, they said.

In the meantime, one of the cop part of the team opened few shots in air to overpower the accused, however, the inmate fled from the spot, they said. The fire shots created panic in the area, they said. Following the incident, the munciff court directed the police authorities to take action against the all cops part of the escort and launch fresh hunt to trace out the fleeing prisoner.
