BARAMULLA: Continuing its drive against drug peddlers, police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered prescription drugs and Charas from their possession in Baramulla district last evening.
Acting on specific information, a police party of Police Station Baramulla headed by SHO under the supervision of DySP (Hqrs) intercepted a vehicle Alto-800 bearing registration number JKO5E-5789 driven by a notorious drug peddler Mohammad Altaf Hakeem son of Ghulam Mohammad Hakeem resident of Khwajabagh Baramulla. On search of the vehicle 41 bottles of contraband drug Codeine Phosphate “Rancof” were recovered. Accused has been taken into custody and a case FIR number 4/2016 under section 8/22 NDPS Act has been registered against him.
Meanwhile, a police party during the Naka checking at Khwajabagh apprehended another drug peddler Ghulam Mustafa war @ Bita war son of Mohammad Rajab war resident of Drangbal Baramulla, during search police recovered Charas weighing 150 grams. Baramulla police has registered a case under section 8/20 against him. (CNS)
