JAMMU: Governor N.N Vohra released Makhan Lal Panditas novel, Saaz Bonen Hund, at a function organized at the Raj Bhavan here today.
This novel set in the backdrop of rural Kashmir, is woven around the lives of two friends: a Kashmiri Muslim and a Kashmiri Pandit, and their families. This novel showcases Kashmiriyat and the human values of yesteryears.
Vohra congratulated the author for his endeavour to enrich Kashmiri literature and hoped that this book would contribute towards the promotion of Kashmiri language and make its literature known across the country. The function was attended by various persons associated with Kashmiri language and literature. During discussions the Governor urged Dr. M.Y Taing, an eminent invitee, to consider launching a project for the translation into English and other languages of selected works in Kashmiri language.
