SRINAGAR: Muhammad Kamal Khan, father of senior journalist, Riyaz Masroor, died late Tuesday evening. The deceased was 60 and had retired from government service a few years ago.
Riyaz Masroor covers Kashmir for British Broadcasting Service (BBC) besides contributing columns for other news outlets including Kashmir Observer.
Khan breathed his last around 9:30 PM, he said. He was laid to rest at their ancestral graveyard at Kenihama, Nowgam in South Srinagar city around 10:00 am today.
The Fateha Khawani of deceased will be held on Saturday at their ancestral graveyard while as Dua Majlis will take place at present residence of Riyaz Masroor at Iqbal Colony Shallapora, Allochibagh Srinagar.
