Youth held for LeT ‘links’

Srinagar: Police claimed that it arrested a suspected militant from Bargam hamlet in Awantipora area of Pulwama district.

A Police official while identifying the arrested youth as Ashfaq Ahmed Bhat, a resident of Bargam village said that he is an Over Ground Worker of militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba. “A pistol along with some ammunition was recovered from his possession,” the Official claimed.

“He is being questioned. It will be improper to comment at this moment,” the official said.

Meanwhile police said that Bomb Disposal Squad destroyed a live hand grenade after it was spotted by locals of village Dohama in North Kashmir’s Handwara town.
