Srinagar: The traffic on Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road and Srinagar-Gulmarg road was disrupted for hours together Government Forces detected an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) near Beacon Huts on HMT Narbal route in the outskirts of Srinagar on Saturday morning.
Officials said that Government Forces who were on patrol on Saturday morning detected land mine in Narbal area. Traffic and pedestrian movement was restricted to avert any tragedy. The Bomb Disposal Squad diffused the land mine that was planted by militants to target Government Forces deployed in the area, the official told CNS.
CRPF spokesperson said that Search Parties traced out one burnt H.E (High Explosive)Bomb alongwith a container having approximate weight of 3-4 Kgs which were planted under culvert near Beacon Huts in Lawaypora and it was later on diffused by Bomb Disposal Squad.
