Srinagar: The government on Thursday announced an extension in the recording of statements by witnesses in the killing of Zainakote youth Gowhar Nazir Dar.
Following the killing of Dar in teargas shelling, according to police, the government ordered a magisterial inquiry.
“In the interest of public convenience, the venue for recording of statement on the aforesaid subject has been shifted from D.C. Office, Tankipora to the Office of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (West), Shalteng, Srinagar,” read an order issued by N A Baba, enquiry magistrate.
The date for recording of statement is further extended up to 23 Nov in order to afford ample opportunity of being heard, the order added.
