Srinagar: Senior CPI (M) leader and MLA Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami Thursday expressed deep concern on the plight of the youth, who have been suffering for decades together.
Tarigami urged the state government to analyze the situation responsible for the unrest of the youth in Kashmir. Calling them wayward and misled is neither correct nor helpful in addressing the problems our younger generation.
Referring to the recent killing of a Srinagar youth in police teargas shelling, Tarigami urged the state machinery to exercise utmost restraint while dealing with the law and order situation. Due to political uncertainty, conflict environment and huge unemployment, our youth are disillusioned and in todays environment of hopelessness resort to protests. The administration should however avoid the use of excessive force.
