Srinagar: Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK)Thursday welcomed government decision of conducting interview of doctors in Srinagar.
SKIMS authorities had earlier fixed interview for the post of lectures in SKIMS Bemina in Jammu to which DAK registered a strong protest because it would have given lot of inconvenience to aspirants.
While hailing the decision, President DAK Dr Nisar ul Hassan in a statement said that the decision will give respite to hundreds of doctors for whom going to Jammu was impossible in view of their tight duty schedule in hospitals.
Taking doctors to Jammu would have compounded the problems in hospitals which are already deficient in staff.
These doctors play pivotal role in running tertiary care hospitals and calling them to Jammu for interview would have affected patient care.
The candidates who were voicing against shifting of interview venue to Jammu have taken a sigh of relief after the decision.
