Mohammad Taghluks era appears to be back in the form and soul of SSP traffic with him. One cannot even make a a request to the SSP in contention because whatever” Aalija says it is final. The SSP subjected me to immense financial loss and metal torture for ten days. The reason(s) were as frivolous as can be: I , along with others, was stopped by traffic cops near New secretariat on the 9th Nov 15 for not wearing a helmet. I do agree that I over ruled the traffic rule by not wearing a helmet which I had forgotten at my home. After being stopped, I made repeated requests to the officer for the instant “Fine” whatever it was for not using a helmet to get my scooter back. But the SSP acted no less than “Taghaluk” Shahi: He asked me to come to his office after 10 days to collect the scooter.
The question I ask is: Why and what for did I have to wait for so long? Is the SSP unaware about the requirement of a scooter by a poor person? Why I was made to wait for an agonizing 10 days? Should not my mistake, in the normal course of things, be penalized with a fine- on the spot or the day after? But here apparently the case is different. It makes me recount the history of “Hitler” ?
And, moreover, does not the SSP traffic know, how much his cops realize from passengers drivers daily as “Chaie Pani” besides hafta from Barbecues sellers?
The men in uniform, unfortunately, act like illiterates.
I would like to request the IGP traffic to personally intervene in the unwanted and undesired acts of the officer for making people suffer for no reason. Such acts will not rejuvenate the traffic system but will bring disrepute to the traffic and police department. And if the practice is not put to a halt, it may invite trouble for the department and make the department face judicial proceedings.
