IYCF sensitization session for GMC faculty held

SRINAGAR: PG Department of Pediatrics GB Pant Hospital held a sensitization session regarding IYCF at Govt. Medical College Srinagar.
The two week programme was held by the Department of Pediatrics in collaboration with National Health Mission and Breastfeeding Promotion Network of India(BPNI).
The sensitization session was held for the faculty of GMC, students and nurses.
During the sessions Prof. Khushwaha course director and Prof. Kaisar Ahmed, head, Department of Pediatrics spoke about the importance of early intervention by way of exclusive breastfeeding feeding and complimentary feeding in reducing the malnutrition burden, increasing the level of mental abilities in children and producing adults with less risk of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and hypertension.
