Srinagar: Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has decided to reach out to his fans through Facebook. Omar, a twitter buff, has opened a Facebook account that has been authenticated by Facebook.
Liked by just under 4000 fans, Omar while expressing his delight over the new endeavor said:”I know some of you had misgivings about the authenticity of this page which I am glad will now have been put to rest. I am very grateful to Facebook people, who were incredibly quick to authenticate my page with the little tick. Thank you to all of you, who were quick to sign up and follow my page as well.
Talking about his experience on Twitter, Omar writes: I have been singularly focused on Twitter as the medium to get my message across. But have since come to realize that I have ignored a large cross section of people who don’t use Twitter at all. It is also a bit difficult to reduce a complex thought or reaction to a series of messages each limited to 140 characters on Twitter.
Omar wrote he would be writing more on Facebook from now on. “I’ will be writing more here and my colleagues will keep you updated with my schedules, photographs, videos and activities. I am looking forward to this new beginning,” he wrote.
