Mufti pays obeisance at Shahdara Sharief

SHAHDARA SHARIEF (RAJOURI): Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Monday paid obeisance at Shahdara Sharief, and prayed for peace and prosperity of the State and wellbeing of the people.
Standing atop a beautiful hillock near Thanna Mandi, the 19th century shrine is dedicated to revered Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah.
Chief Minister was accompanied by Minister for Haj & Auqaf and Horticulture, A. R. Veeri, Minister for CA&PD, Ch. Zulfkar, Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar, Political Advisor to the Chief Minister, Prof. Amitabh Mattoo and Secretary to Chief Minister, M. H. Malik.
After paying obeisance, the Imam and Khateeb of the shrine performed Dastar bandi of the Chief Minister.
He was later briefed by Administrator of the shrine, Abdul Qayoom Dar, about the various ongoing works aimed at improving the facilities for devotees, who throng the shrine in large numbers from all parts of the state.
Mufti Sayeed directed the concerned agencies to complete the work on Bait-ul-Zaireen and kitchen block so that these are handed over to Auqaf without any further delay.  He said he will also depute a team of senior officers to visit Shahdara Sharief for formulation of a comprehensive development plan.
