ANANTNAG: At least seven persons were wounded after suspected militants lobbed a grenade on an Army vehicle in South Kashmirs Anantnag district.
Eyewitnesses said that unknown person hurled a grenade towards one of the armys armoured vehicles near Ganjiwada Anantang. The grenade however missed the target and exploded on the roadside, resulting in the injuries of at least seven pedestrians.
The Government forces did not retaliate, however, police, CRPF and Army personnel rushed to spot while locals immediately rushed the wounded to the hospital.
According to the Medical Superintendent Anantnag hospital one among the seven persons has received wounds in head.
However he said, all the injured were stable.
A police official said that search operation was launched soon after the attack to nab the attackers.
