Hurriyat terms Kamal a rejected leader

Srinagar: Reacting to the remarks of National Conference leader Sheikh Mustafa Kamal in which he had said that Syed Ali Geelani supported Mufti Muhammad Syed in becoming the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Hurriyat Conference (G) Tuesday said that all political leaders that emerged in Kashmir from time to time are same and there is no difference between them as all these leaders including Sheikh Abdullah and Mufti Sayeed helped India to have firm grip over Kashmir.

“Mustafa Kamal is a rejected leader and he has no right to criticize the founder of Kashmir Freedom Struggle Syed Ali Geelani. Geelani is an open book and he never changed his stance, come what may happen in and around him,” Hurriyat spokesperson Ayaz Akbar told CNS adding that it is the Sheikh dynasty that is responsible for the miseries of Kashmiri people.

“Kamal is not only a rejected leader but he is also a layman. He must acknowledge this fact that it is only Syed Ali Geelani who had and has challenged the Indian occupational forces. Geelani doesn’t and have never supported Mufti as in his eyes, Mufti like Sheikh Abdullah is equally responsible for the subjugation of Kashmiri people. We have and will never support Mufti who like Sheikh Abdullah is the mouth piece of India,” Akbar said adding that all the poltical leaders including Sheikh Abullah, his son Farooq Abdullah and Mufti Sayeed befooled people of Kashmir from time to time.
