Security heightened after car stolen from city

Srinagar: Police Tuesday heightened security and intensified checking in Srinagar city and other parts of south Kashmir after a maruti car was stolen by unknown persons in Bagath area of Srinagar city.

Official sources said that the Maruti Car (JK004- 4309) belonging to Bashir Ahmad Zargar of Baghaat was lifted near JK Bank at Baghaat Chowk.

While police have registered a case in police station Sadder, the alert has been sounded, he said.

“All the police control rooms have been alerted and check points have been established on the Pulwama-Srinagar highway,” the officer said.

He said teams have been set up to look for the stolen car.
