Police claim arrested man with AK-47, pistol

SRINAGAR: Police on Friday claimed that it have arrested a man along with some arms and ammunition from central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

A police team acting on a tip off, conducted a raid at Shuhama area today morning and arrested a person namely Abdul Rashid Wani, a police official said in statement.

One AK-47 rifle and a pistol were recovered from his possession, he said.

Wani, a sumo driver, has been lodged in a Srinagar police station for further questioning, sources said.
