Srinagar: Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Saturday termed Kashmir as a massive jail where the resistance leadership is not allowed to carry any activity be it political, social or religious.
Delivering his keynote address at a program on Prisoners Day Yaum-e-Aseeran and Yaum-e-Istiqlal organised by Jammu Kashmir Awami Action Committee at Mirwaiz Manzil at Rajouri Kadal in Srinagar, Mirwaiz in a statement issued to GNS said Kashmir had been turned into a massive jail where all basic rights of the people are being trampled upon by the state and its agencies.
The program chaired by the APHC Chairman, was attended by the AAC party workers, leaders and representative of the APHC, the statement said.
Mirwaiz reminded the gathering that on this day (October 10) in year 1965, when Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Molvi Farooq was arrested and subjected to torture for standing up for the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
